FAQ'S
  • How long does it take to make and send orders?
All of my work is hand made; for my regular designs in precious metal, fine jewellery is approximately 2-4 weeks. Sometimes this may be more depending on materials or hallmarking but I will always update you should there be a longer wait time than agreed. Occasionally I may have some items in stock so if it is urgent please ask. For fine jewellery commissions this can be anywhere from 4-12 weeks depending on my availability, the complexity of the design, how long the design process and approval takes with my client, material availability and fabrication. Any designs involving Porcelain I generally allow approximately 6-8 weeks to create, depending on my availability, it can be sooner or longer depending on the design and when my next kiln firing is. I try to schedule my work so that my kiln is fired economically, and allows extra time for any unforeseen circumstances as working with kiln fire porcelain is not always predictable! However, I also try to keep a small stock of my more regular porcelain flowers, seashells etc. so I will try to help if there is a date quickly upcoming and I can. I also work closely with my clients to accommodate upcoming dates, and encourage dates of special occasions to be booked with plenty of time in advance to avoid any disappointment.

  • What are Silver Clay Experience Workshops?
Workshops for learning about and creating with Silver Clay...please find any available Workshops listed on the Workshop Page. 1-2-1 and private group Workshops can also be arranged. Silver Clay is made of recycled fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. This makes it flexible and easier to work with than some traditional Silversmithing techniques. The binder dissipates when fired, leaving you with solid silver pieces of jewellery to polish and wear by the end of the workshop.
  • T & C's for Silver Clay Workshops
Should you need to cancel your Workshop you will be offered to another date wherever possible. If this is not possible a full refund (minus £50 admin & transaction fee), for cancellations is available for up to 2 weeks before your Workshop date. If you cancel two weeks or less before your Workshops date you will not receive a refund. Due to the nature of the Workshops materials will have been ordered especially for you, transaction fees are incurred and admin time spent arranging, organising and the cancelling your Workshop. If I can re-sell your workshop space I will then of course refund the your Workshop cost minus the above fee. Please note that no refunds will be given for travel issues, to those not showing up to the Workshop, or for individuals that arrive unable to safely take part. For example, if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be allowed for health and safety reasons to use tools, blow torches etc safely, and you may put others at risk in the group. You must also be appropriately dressed to use tools as you would in a workshop environment. It is at the discretion of Bee Lavish to deem you unfit to continue should you behave inappropriately or in an unsafe manner. If this is not convenient you will receive a full refund of each Workshop cost. However, no additional fees or costs such as travel expenses or accommodation fees will be refunded. Thank you.
  • British Hallmarking
The sale of precious metals in the UK is governed by the British Assay Office. Four Assay Offices across the UK test for the purity of items sold in the UK. The items are then marked with an appropriate Hallmark: these are made up of the Registered Maker or Business that made and submitted the pieces for testing (Sponsor's Mark), the Assay Office symbol who marked the item, a symbol for the year, the precious metal it is made from, i.e. Yellow Gold, White Gold, Silver, Platinum or Palladium, and its fineness content symbol to identify it as 9ct, 18ct etc. There are also Hallmarks for special occasions which are available for limited time making pieces special/rarer and sometimes Hallmarking also features as a design on items ad is left on display. In the UK it is a legal requirement for an Assay Office to hallmark articles containing precious metals if they are described as such. Weight exemptions apply; silver weighing over 7.78g, gold and palladium over 1g, and platinum over 0.5g must have a UK recognised hallmark. The means that based on weight most of my Silver items do not need to sent for hallmarking but it can always be requested as an extra should you wish. If my Gold items weigh over 1g these will be sent for hallmarking before being dispatched to you. Please bear this in mind as it does take time to send for hallmarking and receive it back.
